Fall meeting minutes for the Oregon Mosquito and Vector Control Association


The Oregon Mosquito and Vector Control Association’s bi-yearly meeting to provide a forum for OMVCA members, local Health Department professionals, and other stakeholders to discuss and plan the business of the OMVCA

President Chris Wirth opened the meeting at 11:06 with a discussion about the 2019 AMCA meeting in Orlando Florida.  He remarked that the OMVCA had won the AMCA bid to host the annual AMCA meeting in Portland on March 16th through the 20th of 2020.  Discussion was had about the need to send volunteers to the 2019 Orlando meeting to promote Portland. 
Jim Lunders moved the president appoint a committee of three members to start the process of representing the OMVCA at the AMCA meeting in Orlando.  Chad Stubblefield seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The committee as appointed by the president were:
Chris Law
Greg Barron
and either Chad Stubblefield or Matt Hutchinson
Jim Lunders made a motion to support three people’s travel to Orlando with a cap at 1000 dollars per person.  The people going to the meeting will be appointed by the committee for this purpose.
Ken Carver seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Michael McKeague-Foster passed out the previous meeting minutes for approval by the assembled body.
Jim Lunders moved to approve the minutes.  Chris Wirth seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Officer elections were held.
Jim Lunders nominated Matt Hutchinson for President.  Chad Stubblefield seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Ken Carver nominated Jessica Norton for Vice President.  Greg Barron seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Mike Roberts nominated Michael McKeague-Foster to continue serving as Secretary-Treasurer and the motion passed unanimously.
Mike Roberts nominated Ken Carver for Director at large position #1 and the motion passed unanimously.
Cliff Kiser nominated Josh Jacobson for Director at large position #2 and the motion passed unanimously.
Officer elections concluded.

Chad Stubblefield motioned for Jackson county as the location of the OMVCA spring meeting, with dates to be determined later.  Chris Law seconded.
Greg Barron gave an AMCA update about product usage and the Farm Bill.
